family share time!

i don't believe i have ever officially introduced my family to the super-highway soooo...here they are:

my girls tana (18 mos) & elizabeth (5)

and my man, mike...

aren't they sweet? i think i'll keep 'em!

but holy crap is being a family tough; it's a lot harder that it appears when you're growing up. it's a lot harder than people admit! nobody talks about all of the hard work that goes into a family and the peaks and valleys that you have to go through. and the ol' cheesy saying "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"...well fuck being stronger, i just want it to be easy!!!! i should be able to lift a freakin' house by now with all my strength! but as dysfunctional as we are, we're what works and i am thankful for that!

well...the girls went to the mountains with their nana martha , grama wilma, and cousins molly & charlie. they left this morning around 10:00 am and went to a cabin in south park to go fishing and hiking and the parents will be meeting up with them tomorrow evening. i haven't batted an eye...I LOVE THE SILENCE!!!! this is the first time tana has stayed away all night; i'm not worried, i'm not sad, i'm not lonely...

i just received a phone call from nana martha with a sobbing elizabeth in the background. she wants her mama. she doesn't want to tell me about the beavers and the flowers!!! she wants her mother. i should be saddened at this point, but again i am dysfunctional and for the 39th time this year i will be receiving the mother of the year award because...i'm irritated that i'm hearing crying when there's supposed to be silence! just one night!!! just one?!?!? why??? why??? whyyyyyyy???????????

anyhoo...she never stopped crying and nana martha was over it and just basically took the phone and they got on with their evening. i mean eventually she'll stop crying. she's gotta sleep sometime and crying makes you more sleepy than not crying! huh? whaddya think of that theory?! hahaha...better them than me! suckers!

Dysfunctional? Really? I found your post completely functional. Sounds like a day in the life of your average mum... well, add the sound of the fridge opening and the ice cold beer being cracked open and you'd have a day in my life as a mum anyhow. Why "mum"? I'm being british today... Bloody 'Ell, you stupid cow! Cheerio and all that.
